Tallis is from Lonelywood(originally from Triboar where his father owns a fine fishery market). He had no desire to go into the family business of running the fish market on the River fork wher the Two rivers meet. He fell in with the wrong friend (Kwan Hidoshi ) and found he had an unnatural affinity for working in the shadows. Kwan was a Easterner from the distant lands of Kara Tur and had a unique skillset which he called Tetsuru oh ki no riki (Mastering the art of becoming Smoke) and it permeated his philosophy, dichotomy, and Martial artistry as one, under his tutelage he began Tallis' journey down this path- the path of Smoke. A deeply spiritual Martial Art he taught Tallis the philosophy and the Kata to perfect himself over time and vigorous practice tempered with experience. And then one morning, like smoke... Kwan was gone. Lonleywood, a favored hiding spot "good for disappearing into" of rogues and those with a bounty on their head, also provided him with more than a few street smarts even though it was somewhat rural.
